The museum is staffed entirely by volunteers who give up their time to bring alive the sights and sounds of the past. None of this is possible, however, without the support of you - our visitors, who help greatly by spending a little time at the museum. And if you enjoy your day with us, then please tell others or, even better, become a fellow member.

We welcome members from the age of 14 upwards and our annual susbscription rates are very good value. You do not need any technical expertise whatsoever; just a willingness to learn and to see the museum develop. However, our members who are fortunate enough to posses suitable technical skills will find that their talents can be put to good use whatever their field of interest. When we are open to the public, members can learn to conduct and drive our fleet of trams and trolleybuses and to guard or drive on the narrow gauge railway. Or how about manning the admissions kiosk or helping in the museum cafe or shop? Equally, as our museum's administration becomes ever more technologically developed we are also interested in hearing from people who feel that they may be able to offer more ICT or office-based skills that could be put to good use in developing our artifact and photographic archives. One thing is assured - there is always plenty to do!
So, whether you want to come along and get involved with the day to day running of the museum, or just enjoy complementary admission and our quarterly newsletter you will be helping to preserve a vitally important part of our history. You can pick up a membership form from any of our volunteers, or from the cafe, shop or gate kiosk whilst at the museum, or write to the membership secretary at the museum address on our 'Contact us' page.
